20.3 Measures of central tendency
Measures of central tendency indicate the center location of the data. TheĀ Mean and Median are measures of central tendency.
Mean
The mean is the average value of your data. For example, if you had five data points {13, 14, 18, 21, 22} your mean would be the sum of these numbers divided by 5, equaling 17.6.
Median
The median is the center value of your data. Using the same example as above, with data points {13, 14, 18, 21, 22} the median would be the center value 18.
