0.3 Installing and Using the Excel Add-In To Complete Assignments
Add-In Steps—Before Starting an Assignment
See the image below to view what the Add-In will look like in the Excel ribbon.
You may already have the Add-In installed. If you already have the Add-In, you do not need to follow these steps again. You can move on to the next section.
The following video and instructions outline how to install the MyEducator Add-In.

Open Excel and click the "Insert" tab.

Click the "Get Add-ins" option.
Did You Receive an Error Message?If you receive an error message like the one below–or if you find no search results for the add-in–please see the Networked Computers section below for details on how to eliminate the error.

Click "Store" and type "MyEducator" in the search field.

When the MyEducator add-in is found, click "Add."

Click the "Continue" button to close the license message.

Click the "Got It" button to close the message.
You have now successfully installed the add-in into Excel.
Networked Computers
If you are logged into Excel on a networked computer (at school or work) you may have an issue installing the add-in.
Follow these steps and try installing the add-in again.

Click on your name or login name on the top right side of the window.

Choose Sign Out.

Click Yes.

Return to the previous section and install the add-in.
Opening an Assessment
The following video and instructions outline how to begin an Excel assignment with the add-in.
Once you have the MyEducator add-in, follow the steps below to complete an assessment:

Copy the key from the assessment in MyEducator.

Open an Excel workbook and click the add-in labeled "Work on Assignments" in the MyEducator group.

Paste the key in the appropriate field to begin the assessment.
*Note: This pane can be sized by dragging the left border when the Excel window is displayed in full screen.

Click "Start" to open the assessment.
Assessment IconsEach task in the assessment will have up to three icons displayed under the task instructions. Below is a description of each icon and what they do. Watch the video to see how they function within the Excel window.
Using the Icons (02:22) When you have completed the assignment to your satisfaction, click Submit Now.
*Note: You do not need to save the file in order to submit your assignment.
Click the "wand" icon to see a demonstration of how the task may be completed.
Click the "trash" icon to undo a task that was previously completed.
Click the "video" icon to watch a video demonstration of how the task could be completed.
Click the "book" icon to follow a link to the section of text where the information is referenced.
