Summary
Projects are temporary endeavors undertaken to create a unique product, service, or result. Projects come in various sizes, categories, and types and are characterized by being complex and multidisciplinary, existing in conflict and uncertainty, and being part of programs, which may be part of a collection of programs in a portfolio. Project life cycles are as unique as projects themselves, and they often follow an S-shape or a J-shape curve. Project selection methods can be qualitative, quantitative, or a mix of each.
