0.1 Organization of Information
Information in this course is organized into lessons. Each lesson focuses on a single topic and will include the following:
Text and videos that include examples of how to apply the concepts in a variety of ways.
Excel files and datasets you can use as you follow along with the text and videos to reinforce your learning.
Test Your Skills assessments and sections to see how well you understood the content of the lesson (most lessons).
Class files and video playlists for all the videos in a given lesson are found in the introduction section of each lesson. Some students will choose to just watch the playlist of videos at the beginning of the lesson. Others will opt to go section by section, reading the text and then watching the associated videos. Either way is fine, but we strongly encourage you to work along with the videos with the provided worksheets or complete them immediately after watching the videos.
You may find it useful to use multiple screens, one to watch the videos and read the textbook and another to work along in Excel. Some students find that watching the videos at 1.5x or 2x speed allows them to better focus on the content.
At the end of most lessons, there is a Test Your Skills section that will assess what you learned in that section. In many classes, these exercises will be your homework. These exercises use the MyEducator Add-in for Excel to evaluate and provide feedback to you on these exercises.
