1.5 Cell References
Cell references in Excel are very straightforward and simple to do, but they are powerful tools to help reduce the time required to perform a task as well as cut down on the likelihood of data input errors. To reference a cell, simply click on the cell where you want your answer to end up, and input a formula like the one in the image below. Notice in the image that cell F4 (the cell where the solution needs to end up) references cell D2 (the cell where the necessary data is contained). By doing this, the contents of cell D2 are copied into cell F4 exactly as they are, without any typos.
